Volunteering Opportunity (media) – EVS
We are looking for young people (age 18-30) for our volunteer projects with the focus on cultural and community theme photography and video interviews. The volunteers will be working in teams. No previous photo/video knowledge is necessary, just be open minded. This call is open for young people residents of any EU member states + Macedonia, Turkey, Norway and Iceland. Duration of the activity: 12 months
project description
The volunteers will be working with the members of the association in taking photos, preparing short videos on youth and cultural activities. They will be involved in the different stages of the work depending on their interests and skills. Personal training will be provided to learn these skills. The volunteers will actively participate in the trainings of the communication courses that are organised for high school and university students and to youth workers. These are team building, public speech training, photography courses, youth exchanges. These actions also include the promotion of the Erasmus+ Program and the EVS itself. Every Monday there is a staff meeting where the activities of the week will be jointly discussed, deadlines will be set and feedback will be given. Working hrs 9-17 (lunch: 13.00-14.30) – flexible based on tasks.
accommodation, food and transport arrangements
The volunteers will live in rental apartment of the association (either sharing a larger room with an other volunteer of the same gender or having a small separate room). For breakfast, dinner and non-working days the volunteers receive 25.000 HUF (~80 EUR) in cheques, the cost of lunch for the working days (about an additional 20.000 HUF (65 EUR)/month) is also covered. Lunch is ordered or will be provided in a restaurant depending on the on-going activities. The volunteers get tickets for the local transport. We can provide bikes too.
training during the project
If the volunteer does not speak Hungarian (if language support is available) the participation at one Hungarian semester language course (spring or autumn) at the University of Debrecen is supported. The volunteers will be working with the members of the association in taking photos, filming, editing, recording, gathering information, preparation, making interviews. The volunteers will be helped to learn and to try out in practice all the activities (creation of an image, editing photo, spots and preparing animations, organising events). We offer consultations with special local experts too.

We are searching for young people who are interested in taking photos, making videos on different topics, but are open not only for becoming a reporter, but would like to learn the ends and bits of the profession as well (photography, filming, information gathering, news writing, editing, interviews, recording editing and mixing). The volunteers should actively participate in the trainings of the association not only as students, but also as helpers. additional information
It is an advantage if the volunteer has good written English skills, likes taking photos or can draw. It can happen that we ask the volunteers to participate in different activities on the weekends; in this case the volunteers will get these extra days as holidays that they can use later on during project. We are working in a friendly atmosphere, with mutual respect towards each other. We believe it is important to Stay Positive!
