Volunteer activities in Hortobágy #empoweredbynature

We are offering volunteer team activities with the support of the European Solidarity Corps for young people age 18-30. The group members are starting and finnishing together, so it is not possible to participate in half a team, for a shorter or different periods. So consider when applying that you need to be present on the 1st and 2nd day of the activity (1st day can be a travel day) for the preparation trainings and at the end of the activity for the evaluation meeting (the last day is a travel day).

There are a high number of applicants for the volunteer activities in Hortobagy. The next group will be in March 2026 for which we will open the applications in December 2025. Thank you for your understanding!

Regarding each volunteer team (HR01-HR05):

Locations: Hortobágyi Madárkórház – Madárpark & Pusztai Állatpark - Animal Park of the Pusta aka patting zoo

Number of total days: 46 (number of free days: 18)

We provide accommodation (only shared rooms), insurance, for food and pocket money we pay 700 EUR/ person to cover your costs + international and local travel costs up to a limit

Please write a few sentences on why you would like to join the project and how did you hear about it. Please indicate which time period (HR01-HR05) you would like to join. After that we send you the info-pack for the related period and we plan a Zoom online meeting.

Training activities:

ACT it Out! International Training Course for youth workers APPLY HERE (click) till 31^st August 2025 the latest

Venue: Debrecen, Hungary

Dates: 28^th September - 7^th October 2025 (travel days: 28^th and 7^th ) OPEN!!!

Topic: Empowering youth workers to use theatre of the oppressed methods (image, forum and newspaper theatre) for social change

Total number of participants: 30 (4-5 participants/ country) + 2 facilitators

Working language: English

Target group: youth workers, volunteers of youth organisations, age: 18+ residents of the following countries: Bulgaria, Greece, Germany, Romania, Spain, Türkiye and Hungary.
